Warning: This is sort of a pathetic photo set. I’m not sure what exactly went wrong, but I’ve always had trouble loading and unloading film (no matter how many times my dad teaches me) so maybe I accidentally exposed it or something. I don’t know. As much as I would like to think that the overexposure makes the photos look all hipster-y and surreal, I would have liked them much better if they weren’t. I’m starting to think that it was only beginners’ luck that made my previous rolls turn out okay.
But still, I’m realizing more and more that nothing compares to shooting in film. The unpredictability and excitement that comes with seeing how your prints turned out is one of the best feelings in the world. This set contains mostly a mishmash of events and outings with friends, and I can’t help but smile in recollection as I look through the photos.
These are from last December, when me and a few high school friends met up at Naga for a bit of catching up. The baby, Liam Ezekiel, is my first godson ever! He must have been only a little over a month when this was taken at Steph’s (his mom and one of my closest friends) house.
Also, who knew that this would be the first AND last time that I would be watching Karl Roy live? It sort of makes me regret not staying to watch for a bit longer. But then again, I’m not much of a fan of hard rock, because I am an old lady like that.
If you frequent Bonifacio High Street, you’ll notice those guys who always bring those large sheepdogs around. I’m not sure if they’re just walking it for their bosses or whatever – I have this memory of the sheepdogs at Minesview Park that you can have your photo taken with for a fee– but I couldn’t resist taking a photo. Look at how large that tongue is!
Finally, these are the few shots I got to take during the Hot Air Balloon Festival last February. They’re nothing special, but I just like to marvel on how the sky always looks so pretty on film. The coloring is just too perfect. It reminds me that waking up at 5am that day to catch the Hot Air Balloon flight was extremely worth it.
I have another roll that I had developed today so expect another film set soon! :)

the huge dog!!! D:
ReplyDeleteEven with the film being exposed I still love the photos. It gives a certain unique effect that you can't get with digital which I think is a huge plus!
